The above is a little left of field. Destined for the project after the TT120, which is Mr. Hill's O gauge project. This little brake van with a wheelbase of just 49mm, which even with my poor maths, I can guess at a scale 7'. Ideal for the layout which is large of scale, but short of footprint. I cannot take any credit for its building, as it was bought, after much pondering, from a club stand at the Guildford O gauge meeting for a princely eight quid. Scratch-built with whitemetal axlebox bits and some Slaters wheels. Everything North of this seems to be plasticard. From this angle it looks OK. From the end, things are different, hence my hesitation, and she has a definite diagonal wind. The test was flat running, which she passes with flying colours. There is quite a bit of work to do: a full repaint, some repairs and then a few extra details. A guard leaning on the door would be a nice touch and would lift it. considerably. All in all, certainly worth the outlay and will complete the basic stock roster. That makes it sound like the whole thing is a done deal and ready to go, which could not be further from the truth. Though there is quite a bit of low level work already done.
